Joy in September

Gram gets to express herself!  How great.  I know she loves to paint.  One of her earlier works hangs on the wall in her bedroom in Falmouth.  The balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet.

To Grandpa

Charlie is standing next to a plaque in memory of his great grandfather, whom he never met.  Amazingly he is smiling in this picture - this rarely happens.  Very, VERY rarely.  Perhaps he smiles because I am holding his $4.50 bag of candy from Ghelfi's on Main.

Joy's Birthday Bash

Gram celebrated her birthday today.  She turned 96.  Mom and Wes and I called and had a great conversation with her.  Uncle Jon took these photos of her celebration.  She looks great, seems happy, and that makes us happy.

Happy Birthday Gram!

Can't wait to see you again.

Tomorrow's the Big Day

Great Gram turns 96!

Happy Birthday Gram!  Hope you like your little lucky stone - I love the joy bag I put it in!

Muah, muah! Kiss, kiss.

Love, Laurel

Gram at May's Birthday Party

Gram looks like she is having a good time with some of her new friends.  She gets around without the help of a wheelchair.  All that walking is sure to keep her bones strong!

Mom noticed she had a manicure - she's never had one of those!

I bet she doesn't know that Curious George holds on to a bunch of ballons and flies away - barely missing the tiger den - but Gram, I think you are safe. Good to see you looking so well.

Oh Joy!

She's my Gram.  She's 95.  And she's grand.

I created this blog so that we can tell stories, post pictures, recall memories of Gram.  I have some photos that I plan to post but thought that this was a good start.  If you got an email/invite you are in! Write what you remember or what you want to say...if everyone posts then we will have a great blog to look at - which can be very fun.

Not sure if she will see this, but I am going to write it like she can. People who are 95 can look at a computer screen!  Go Gram!

That's all for now, but I will get some pictures up tomorrow!
