In Tears Love Chad

Oh I’m so sorry Laurel! To tell you the truth I am in tears. I LOVE JOY like she was my own grandmother. She was TRULY AN EXCEPTIONAL LADY AND VERY WORLDLY and WISE. I remember all those great cookouts we had in your grandparents back yard. I remember her very LOVELY DISTINCT LAUGH and those unique glasses she wore on a chain. I remember her ambition in her own real estate like my grandfather (do you know they are the same age, but your grandmother had the tenacity to live a full decade beyond my grandparents). She truly had a love for life. When we all ended up back at this apartment after (what I believe was my grandfathers funeral) your grandmother had a conversation with me on the sofa THAT BLEW ME AWAY! Had no idea that she was originally from Sacramento California. We talked about California, Seattle, the West Coast, roadtrips, National parks, the great outdoors. Her eyes were so open to the world. She was extremely accepting and VERY BRIGHT. Most of all she was WAY AHEAD OF HER TIME. I could see/feel HOW MUCH SHE LOVED YOU LAUREL!

PLEASE GIVE ALL MY LOVE AND CONDOLENCES to your family. Give yourself, your mom, and Jon a very big, loving, and sincere HUG from me! If there is anything I can do for you and your family let me know! If you need to talk, a shoulder to cry on or to come to Bowerman’s Beach club, have lunch on the beach, or just stare out to sea in silent contemplation, let me know. I want to be here for you and your family in any way I can!

LOVE CHAD

PS: there could not have been a more apt name for your grandmother than JOY!!! That is always how I will remember her!
